Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition 2015 witnessed a massive turn out of visitors during the weekend Visitors overwhelmed by the jewels, timepieces, unique items and the scintillating ambiance
Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the state of Qatar, the 12th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) saw a massive rise in attendance during the weekend. Visitors were overwhelmed by the scintillating ambiance of the exhibition hall that hosted some of the elite brands in the international luxury market. Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), q.media Events and Fira Barcelona at the Qatar National Convention Centre, the exhibition will conclude on Saturday. This year’s show fascinated visitors with some exclusive items unveiled for the first time in Qatar. Bvlgari, known for its Italian excellence in exquisite craftsmanship showcased its magnificent creations at DJWE 2015. It included its large ensemble of exceptional and rare contemporary coloured gems expressing creative sensibility that transcends time and passing trends. Besides a range of fine jewels, their charismatic watches and designer accessories beguiled the Qatari visitor. Under the umbrella of Blue Salon and Pari Gallery, Montegrappa, the famous Italian manufacture of high end writing instrument launched its unique collection of the beautiful Gibran Kahlil Gibran, in honour of the world renowned writer. The brand also brought in the Pele Limited Edition pen to the fair, displayed in the Pari Gallery stand. Other brands that showcased their latest collection in the Pari Gallery stand were Shenoy Jewellers, the main highlight being their fancy cut diamond sets and the famous watch brands Marben, Davidoff and Zasper. In addition, Domasco presented the latest novelties of Raymond Weil that included the Jasmine Collection, Freelancer and the popular sports line from the Nabucco collection; Al Muftah revealed the new timepiece from Century, Crescendo which is a part of the Master Imperial collection dedicated to the House's prestigious creations; Al Zain showed of their eclectic jewellery pieces made of natural pearls from Bahrain. Brands that participated for the first time in the exhibition like Al Bidaa and Blue Diamond did not fail to surprise visitors. The Sword of Qatar by Al Bidaa made of 21-karat gold with 200 pieces of small precious stones and the Tour Eiffel timepiece of Saint Honore which is a collector’s timepiece that marks the brand’s 130th anniversary, caught the eye of the Qatari collector. Mounted on an elegant brown “croco design” leather strap, the Tour Eiffel timepiece has been manufactured in a limited series of 1,885 pieces in steel (in homage to the year the watch making house was established), offering a unique opportunity to wear on one’s wrist an exceptional symbol of France and the technological genius of Gustave Eiffel. Overall, the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2015 is a huge success that renders a perfect platform to exhibitors to exhibit their fine craftsmanship and innovations in the Jewellery and watch making industry. The show is a must visit for it’s not every day that one gets a chance to adore the best in the international market under one roof.
