According to Mr. Carlos Sumbula, Chief Executive Officer of ENDIAMA, "During the last 5 years ENDIAMA carried out a correlation study between unknown Kimberlites and known alluvial diamond deposits. The result of this study showed that only 10% of existing deposits come from known kimberlites and the remaining 90% are still to be discovered. This illustrates that the Angolan Diamond potential is very high".

Sustainable Development is one of the major concerns by rigorously selecting Partners for the mining projects and always seeking for highly professional standards. ENDIAMA has over the past few years carried out aero geophysical high technology surveys on specific diamond concessions to trace kimberlites anomalies. This survey in partnership with ALROSA led to the discovery of the biggest Kimberlite in Angola to date. The effort resulted on the discovery of Luaxe, which is a kimberlite superior to Catoca (the fourth largest in the world). Last year ENDIAMA's diamond production reached around 9 million carats and in value terms was at 1.1 billion US dollars. With LUAXE KIMBERLITE whose diamond reserves are estimated at 350 million carats, ENDIAMA has the capacity to double the production levels in the next 5 years. LUAXE Kimberlite is under the 1st phase of operations, which includes the treatment of large-scale sampling, culminating with the preparation of the technical-economic feasibility study for the project. Additionally, knowing that diamonds represent a sustainable resource, the company’s strategy also encompasses investment in Artisanal Mining, thus providing sound basis of livelihood for the villages in need and directly contributing to reduce poverty and stimulate National entrepreneurship.

Contrary to the attribution process of the mining permits handed in 2010, whose goal was reviewed, due to the fact that the creation of cooperatives aimed to better organize the artisanal mining activity, to reinforce the controlling system as well as to improve the economy of local communities by generating jobs and making sustainable use of old mining concessions where industrial exploration is no longer feasible. In this regard, 27 cooperatives operating in several provinces have already been implemented as a strategy to boost the extractive sector. ENDIAMA is much more than a company that explores diamonds, it is on the same spirit that further supports Social Responsibility projects, to ensure that diamond revenues continue to drive sustainable development in local communities.. Some of the recent social projects supported and initiated by ENDIAMA:

• The continued tradition which combines wealth creation and social protection, materializing the values that shine by focussed efforts on strengthening and improving education services such as the construction of integrated projects including primary and secondary schools and teachers residences in Luanda (Demba Chio) and Lunda Norte (Caungula).

• Another good example are the Clinics and Medical Centers expansion program recently inaugurated branches of Sagrada Esperança Clinic in Luanda (Cacuaco) and Lunda Sul (Saurimo) province that includes laboratory, pharmacy, imaging and Xray rooms well equipped with the latest technology. Angolan employees, including doctors, nurses and therapeutic diagnostic technicians will ensure the operation of these infrastructures.

• Also important is the program of improving housing conditions for workers and local communities which was unveiled at Mwono Waha in Lunda Sul and Viana housing projects in Luanda, culture and sport programs by the refurbishment of Iron Palace and the sponsored Sagrada Esperanca soccer team at main leagues.
