The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) is pleased to announce the inaugural Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017, which will take place on June 15-18, 2017 at Challenger 1, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand.

“We are certain to see a bigger and better fair than our previous editions this coming June. The feedback from Thai and international exhibitors, as well as support from visitors has been extraordinary. The fair will also enable a more vibrant and dynamic environment in gems and jewelry trading,” says Mr Suttipong Damrongsakul, President of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA).

The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) was established with the aim of supporting and promoting Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry. For over 40 years, the TGJTA has served the needs of its members in the Thai gems and jewelry trade, from SMEs to large businesses involved in every aspect of the industry, including raw material, design, manufacture, manufacturing equipment and innovation. The industry is ranked third in the country in terms of export value, generating 435 billion baht (US$12.3 billion) worth of exports over the period of January to October 2016. Moreover, the TGJTA is also initiating the promotion of gems and jewelry sales alongside tourism which will enable inbound tourists to buy gems and jewelry as souvenirs.

Directors of the TGJTA have supported the continuous development of the Thai gems and jewelry industry, from training for craftsmen in the industry to breaking down barriers for the import of raw stones and other raw material. This year, the TGJTA has successfully received support from the Thai government to exempt all custom duty for the import of silver and gold coils under 18K. This is the result of the TGJTA’s efforts to lobby for new measures to increase the competitive advantage for the Thai gems and jewelry industry on the world market. The TGJTA has also established alliances with various gems and jewelry associations worldwide, building a strong and sustainable business network.

With the TGJTA’s experience and in-depth understanding of the gems and jewelry industry combined with over 30 years’ experience in organizing gems and jewelry fairs, the TGJTA is ideally positioned to host the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017. Offering the best of Thailand’s gems and jewelry – from rare, high-quality color stones to exquisitely crafted gold and silver jewelry in various prices and styles – buyers and visitors to the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 will also be able to enjoy a range of facilities and business matching activities at the fair to ensure their business negotiations run smoothly.

The Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair will be held from June 15 to 18, 2017 at Challenger 1, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. Open to Thai and international companies, as well as the general public, the fair will be held over an area of 20,000sqm and consist of 1,000 booths featuring companies from all over the world. The organizers expect over 30,000 visitors to participate in the event.

With its strong track record, the TGJTA is confident that the Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2017 will be warmly received by those in the gems and jewelry industry, while increasing the confidence of those interested in entering the industry, opening up new sales channels as well as highlighting Thailand’s strength as a world-class hub for gems and jewelry.
