WFDB joins IDMA, DDE and DPA in diamond identification technology roadshow at 21st Presidents’ Meeting

The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has joined the International Diamond Manufacturers Association ( IDMA) and the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) in the organization of a roadshow of current diamond identification and detection technologies on occasion of the 21st Presidents’ Meeting and the Dubai Diamond Conference. These events will take place September 23-26. The Presidents’ Meeting is the biennial meeting of the leadership of two sister organizations, the WFDB and IDMA. The Dubai Diamond Conference is organized by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

“Synthetic or lab-grown diamonds are high on the agendas of IDMA and the WFDB,” IDMA Secretary General Matthew Schamroth noted. “We’re pleased that across the board, we’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the identification and detection equipment and tools for lab-grown diamonds. A good number of companies will be joining us in Dubai to demonstrate their tools and equipment.”

“We’re glad to join the initiative by my IDMA counterpart,” said Rony Unterman, WFDB Secretary General. “Delegates from the 29 bourses affiliated to the WFDB will be attending this meeting and they will be well served with the exposure to the information provided by these companies.”

Maryam Al Hashemi, Director of Precious Metals & Stones, DMCC, noted that interested companies that have not yet joined the participating technology firms are requested to contact Martin Leake at: Martin.leake@dmcc.ae.
