More than 130 applicants to compete for The Dynasty
collection stones at the auction
On November 29, ALROSA is holding a silent auction for the sale of the unique polished diamond collection The Dynasty. More than 130 participants have already registered for the auction, including both the firms and private clients. The auction will be held at ALROSA's online trading platform. Polished diamonds are put up for auction individually. There will be a one-step bidding - the highest bid wins. Names of the participants are not disclosed. The reserve prices will be announced to the registered participants. The international roadshow of The Dynasty for the potential clients lasted for three months. The collection has visited Hong Kong, Ramat Gan (Israel) and New York during this time. Yury Okoyomov, ALROSA Vice President:
The Dynasty collection consists of five diamonds and was produced from a 179-carat unique rough diamond named The Romanovs, which was mined from Nyurbinskaya kimberlite pipe in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 2015. It took a year and a half to create the collection. There was a good reason to choose the name for the collection, which is connected with ALROSA's intention to revive the traditions and memory of renowned Russian jewelers famous for their craftsmanship and filigree since the Russia's first cutting and polishing factory founded by Peter I early in the 18th century. The Dynasty, the main 51.38-carat diamond, is a 57-facet traditional round brilliant-cut diamond, Triple Excellent (the best quality cut), D, VVS1. Such characteristics occur in less than 1% of diamonds worldwide. It is the most clear large diamond ever manufactured throughout the Russian jewelry history, and it is expected to be the most valuable stone as well. ALROSA is the world's largest producer of rough diamonds in carats. ALROSA is engaged in exploration, mining and sales of diamonds. The Company's operations are located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Arkhangelsk Region of Russia. In 2016, the Company produced 37.4 million carats of rough diamonds; 2016 revenue was RUB 317.1 billion.
