India Pavilion at Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE)
inaugurated by Sonam Kapoor Ahuja


25th The India Pavilion at the 17th Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE) was inaugurated by DJWE brand ambassador and Bollywood Diva Mrs. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja in the presence of Indian Ambassador His Excellency P. Kumaran. India Pavilion is one of the highlights of the show.

India Pavilion located at New Luxury area and Concourse area, with 27 exhibitors spread across 31 booths showcases a complete range of products including diamond and studded jewellery with stones like, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and pearls; plain and handmade jewellery catering to the Middle-East and its neighbouring countries. There were also a wide range of contemporary, along with modern jewellery, with detailed craftsmanship and designs inspired by European and Middle Eastern trends over the last few decades.

Mr. Pramod Kumar Agrawal, Chairman, GJEPC said, “Middle East has been an important market for the Indian gem and Jewellery industry. India’s gem & jewellery exports to Middle East accounted for US$ 12 billion in 2019. Indian manufacturers had received a good response from buyers from across the world last year at the show. I am hopeful that this platform would open up new business opportunities and further strengthen the existing trade relationship with Middle East and its neighboring countries.”

GJEPC, the apex body of gem and jewellery industry in India, is organizing an exclusive trade show only for international buyers – the International Gem & Jewellery Show (IGJS), which will debut in Jaipur, the world’s largest gem-cutting centre, from April 1-3, 2020 at the world-class Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), Sitapura. The standout show that will offer enhanced customer experience aims to bring together all Indian gem and jewellery exporters on a new, single platform that will focus on building trade relationship and thus boost business. GJEPC is hosting 1,000 International buyers who have been specially invited to the show from more than 40 countries. The show already has over 225 exhibitors on board, who will showcase the best range of gems and jewellery.

GJEPC has been facilitating and promoting G&J trade to cater to customers across the globe. The Indian gem & jewellery industry has invested in its 5 million-plus workforce by adopting high standards of modern infrastructure and has been providing socio-economic benefits such as, health insurance for workers and second-to-none training programs for workers amongst others. The industry’s ability to satiate any kind of jewellery requirements has amazed the world. This has been possible due to the industry’s willingness to embrace and adopt the latest technology.

    

The prime activity of the GJEPC is to promote gem & jewellery products in the international markets. Over the years, it has been organising a number of important trade shows held in the country like the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), IIJS Signature, India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME).

India also participates at major international shows across the year. This include JCK Las Vegas, Basel, and several others worldwide.

For the sustainable development of the industry, GJEPC has been taking a holistic approach.
