The auction house Tiancheng International will hold an important jewellery auction on June 12, 2016 in Hong Kong. As part of the auction, a total of 38 pieces from the famous designer Kat Florence in partnership with Sarah Jessica Parker will be auctioned under the title «Magnificent Jewellery Charity Auction – Kat Florence & Sarah Jessica Parker». The Gübelin Gem Lab analyses pieces from this collection at no costs and the Gübelin Academy offers the free participation in a «Coloured Gem Professional» course to the successful bidders of the two most prominent lots.

At the auction, 38 jewellery pieces from the famous designer Kat Florence will be on offer under the name «Magnificent Jewellery Charity Auction – Kat Florence & Sarah Jessica Parker». Part of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization «A Drop of Life», a charity warranting the access to clean water across rural China. A total of 280 jewellery pieces will be auctioned by Tiancheng International on June 12, 2016 summing up to an estimated value of 28 Mio. USD.

The Canadian jewellery designer Kat Florence personally scouts for rare jewels and provides them with her very personal note. Exquisite coloured gemstones, such as sapphires, emeralds or Paraiba tourmalines, build the centre of her jewellery pieces. Such gems are true rarities nowadays and very hard to find in the market. In 2015, Kat Florence inked a 5-year partnership with Sarah Jessica Parker.

The Gübelin Gem Lab supports the charity auction by analyzing selected pieces from the collection at no charge. Since 1923, the family-owned company Gübelin runs its own, independent gemmological laboratory. Under the aegis of the late Dr. Eduard J. Gübelin, the Gübelin Gem Lab evolved to a globally respected gem testing lab, operating permanent facilities in Lucerne, Hong Kong and New York.

The two most astonishing lots consist of two diamonds necklaces featuring truly outstanding centre stones, a 423 ct Tanzanite and a 91 ct Paraiba tourmaline from Mozambique. For the buyers of these two lots, the Gübelin Academy will offer a complementary «Coloured Gem Professional» Level 1 course in Hong Kong (http://www.gubelin.com/en/gemmology/academy).
