HRD Antwerp Opens jewellery grading lab in SEEPZ and office in Bharat Diamond Bourse

HRD Antwerp has announced the opening of a jewellery grading lab in the Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) in Mumbai, established for manufacturers exporting to various international locations. "Our customers will have safe, reliable and easy access to our services. Our laboratory has the know-how and tools to thoroughly analyse jewellery, and to provide a general description of the jewel, the quality of the diamonds it contains, and the precious metals of which it is made", explains Ravi Chhabria, Managing Director of HRD Antwerp India.

"HRD Antwerp already has partnerships with a large number of international manufacturers and jewellers, including exclusive contracts with certain jewellers. The growth potential of the jewellery market is substantial, and we expect to double our activities in a short period of time."

HRD Antwerp gives clients the opportunity to personalize their Jewellery Report by adding a company logo either on the report itself, or on the card format.

HRD Antwerp India currently has a fully-fledged lab (and a brand-new education campus) strategically located near the Bharat Diamond Bourse (in the IL&FS Financial Centre), where customers can safely carry their stones for grading, or use one of HRD Antwerp's transportation partners for free pick-up and delivery all across India. A new office will soon be opening in the BDB, emphasising HRD Antwerp's commitment to strengthening the ties between the world's leading diamond trading centre – Antwerp – and the BDB – one of the world's largest diamond bourses.

"This BDB office will bring us closer to our customers and will enable us to offer them a quicker and more personalized service. The BDB office will act as a drop-off point, where our customers can submit and retrieve their stones without having to leave the BDB premises. Our commercial team will meet with our customers, answer all their queries and thus improve our open communication channel", Mr. Chhabria continues. Colour pre-investigation and screening services will also be available.

Michel Janssens, CEO of HRD Antwerp, states: "We are excited to expand our capacities in one of the major jewellery manufacturing hubs in India. We want to work closely with jewellers, and offer them a range of tailor-made solutions, in order to help them better serve their customers, and ultimately increase their sales. Jewellers need backing from a reputed and independent international grading lab, one that is able to deliver a trademark for their products. A high-quality grading report is undeniably an additional selling tool."
