The Story of the Ebdaá Award – The Jewellery Design Competition Award

Launched over a decade ago by the Artist Azza Al Qubaisi, the Ebdaá Award was created to celebrate creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship in jewellery design. In partnership with the Jewellery and Watch Show Abu Dhabi, the award has become a platform where aspiring designers and professionals showcase their talent, blending tradition with modernity.

From its early beginnings, the Ebdaá Award has grown into a prestigious competition that not only highlights the beauty of jewellery as an art form but also nurtures the next generation of designers. Each year, participants bring forward unique ideas inspired by culture, heritage, and contemporary design, making the award of innovation in the region.

With the introduction of categories such as Pearl Design, Calligraphy Design, Emirati Design, People of Determination Design, Professional Design and most recently, the Emirates Souvenir and International Award, the Ebdaá Award continues to expand its reach. Today, it stands as a stage for diverse voices, encouraging creativity while honouring heritage and pushing the boundaries of jewellery design.
