Shri. Piyush Goyal (Union Minister of Commerce & Industries) Inaugurates New Enterprises & Service Tower (NEST)-2 in SEEPZ, Mumbai
The SEEPZ Special Economic Zone today inaugurated the New Enterprises & Service Tower (NEST)-2, a key infrastructure expansion designed to support India’s growing gems, jewellery, and export ecosystem. The ceremony, held at the Bharat Ratnam – Mega CFC Auditorium, was led by Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, as Chief Guest. The event was hosted by Shri Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, IAS, Development Commissioner, SEEPZ SEZ. Senior officials, industry leaders, and unit holders from across the SEEPZ community attended the inauguration, followed by a formal address session inside the SEEPZ auditorium. SEEPZ Leadership Highlights Progress and Industry Challenges Speaking at the ceremony, Shri Dnyaneshwar B. Patil, Development Commissioner, SEEPZ, noted SEEPZ’s evolving role in global trade and its resilience in navigating tariff-related pressures. He stated: Representing the industry, Mr Adil Kotwal, Chairman, SEEPZ Gems & Jewellery Manufacturers Association, expressed optimism for upcoming trade negotiations. He shared: Union Minister Piyush Goyal Urges Youth Voice, Clean Business Systems, and Rapid Development Delivering the keynote address, Shri Piyush Goyal emphasised transparency, industry participation, and a forward-looking vision for SEEPZ’s transformation. He remarked: “I encourage the youth to voice concerns and highlight industry issues to the government. Honest and transparent business must be our collective goal. The government is committed to ensuring that entrepreneurs operate in a stress-free system. This is the best time to expand your business, take advantage of decriminalization reforms, and benefit from reduced compliance burdens.” He also highlighted SEEPZ’s infrastructure transition: Commitment Toward Future SEEPZ Infrastructure Smt.
