Valerio Soldani is the Italian Trade Commissioner to the United Arab Emirates, leading the Dubai office of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). With more than two decades of experience in international trade, investment promotion, and economic development, he has built a career dedicated to advancing Italy’s global business presence and forging lasting partnerships.

At ITA Dubai, Valerio is responsible for strengthening Italy’s commercial footprint across the Gulf. His leadership ensures Italian companies connect with buyers, investors, and industry leaders, while promoting Italy’s excellence in sectors ranging from luxury and design to advanced industries and sustainability. His work plays a central role in supporting Italy as a trusted partner for the UAE’s long-term vision of growth and innovation.

Valerio’s career spans senior leadership positions across ITA offices worldwide. In New York, he spearheaded foreign direct investment (FDI) initiatives and launched ITA’s global startup programme, partnering with leading US accelerators to position Italy as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. In Rome, he headed ITA’s FDI Support Office, driving investment attraction strategies and showcasing Italy as a premier destination for global investors. Earlier, he founded ITA’s e-commerce team, pioneering digital strategies that brought Italian SMEs onto platforms including Amazon, Alibaba’s Tmall, Yoox and WeChat.

His foundation in international trade was built through ITA’s design promotion team, where he championed Italian architecture and contract design in key global markets. Before joining ITA, Valerio gained private sector experience as an export manager in the rally industry and British design sector, sharpening his expertise in global market development.

A strong advocate for innovation, sustainabilit and cultural exchange, Valerio bridges Italy’s centuries-old craftsmanship with the Gulf’s forward-looking ambitions. His strategic vision and entrepreneurial approach have positioned ITA not only as a driver of trade but also as a catalyst for creative and economic collaboration between Italy and the UAE.
